HOA NANG

Hoa Nang is an organic rice producer that works with smallholder farmers in Ben Tre province in southern Vietnam. This area produces the majority of the country’s rice, but conventional farming methods have contributed to pollution and degradation in the Mekong River and surrounding ecosystems. Hoa Nang stands out for recruiting and training farmers in organic rice farming, enabling them to earn higher incomes while improving the health of farmers, consumers, and the environment. Healthy paddies and waterways also allow farmers to raise shrimp and crabs for additional food and income, supporting a thriving local ecosystem. Beneficial Returns has provided Hoa Nang with two loans, supporting the purchase of organic inputs and working capital that strengthen farmer livelihoods and promote regenerative rice production.
