EcoFiltro manufactures and sells ceramic water filters in Guatemala, providing households with affordable access to safe drinking water and improved health outcomes. Its model also generates environmental benefits: urban customers who typically consume bottled water reduce plastic waste, while rural families who would otherwise boil water over wood fires reduce firewood use and indoor air pollution.Beneficial Returns has provided six loans to support EcoFiltro’s growth, including factory expansion and investments in production equipment that have strengthened quality and scaled output. EcoFiltro and its CEO were recognized by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship for their impact-driven business model.
