HEINCKE

Heincke is a certified B Corporation that purchases and processes unrefined, whole cane sugar (panela in Spanish) from over 1,000 smallholder farmers in six regions in Colombia. Heincke improves the quality of small-scale production by enhancing local mill infrastructure which leads to a 30% increase in farmer income from the crop. Heincke also supports the transition to regenerative agriculture, improving soil health and farmer health.   Beneficial Returns provided an equipment loan to expand Heincke’s product line to include micro-pulverized panela for industrial use, an in-demand product that commands a higher price than raw panela.
