GRUPO MURLOTA

Grupo Murlota is a social enterprise that promotes income generation and food security for women in rural Mexico through small-scale poultry farming. The enterprise has helped more than 65,000 women launch egg operations, ranging from backyard flocks for household consumption to commercial businesses with more than 1,000 hens. Grupo Murlota provides healthy birds, equipment, and hands-on training to help women establish and grow their operations. Beneficial Returns has provided multiple rounds of financing to strengthen Grupo Murlota’s poultry infrastructure, first supporting a facility in Sinaloa for chick incubation and producer training and, more recently, a new research and hen-growing center in Jalisco that will expand the company’s capacity to supply healthy, high-quality birds.
