Ciklo

Cicklo is a recycling association based in Bogotá that works with over 100 waste-picking families, representing nearly 500 people, to collect, sort, and commercialize recyclable materials. Operating within Colombia’s inclusive recycling framework, Cicklo formalizes the work of waste pickers, improving income stability, working conditions, and access to social support services. Through its model, recyclers receive direct payments for materials while benefiting from training, equipment, and community programs that strengthen livelihoods in a historically marginalized sector. Beneficial Returns provided a loan to finance a PET processing and compacting line. This investment increases the value of recycled materials, improves operational efficiency, and enables higher and more stable payments to recyclers while reducing waste sent to landfills.
