Cafenor mills and exports premium green coffee beans from 74 smallholder farmers in El Salvador. Cafenor elevates farmer income by increasing the quality and consistency of coffee through technical assistance, provision of specialty seedlings, and access to fertilizers and pesticides on credit. Post-harvest, Cafenor processes coffee to exacting standards at its solar-powered facility, allowing the company to command prices at a premium over conventional coffee. Beneficial Returns has provided Cafenor with two loans, supporting investments in modern processing equipment and expanded working capital that have improved operational efficiency, quality control, and farmer incomes.
